Take the shot

I’ve had some good news of late… following on from my fantastic present, my Canon 5D MkII.

First is the news that I’ll be helping out with food photos for an upcoming book at work for a TV Chef. I am overjoyed that I have been considered for this task and more so that I’ll be doing it with somone like Sean who has a lot of experience I can learn from. It should be happening sometimes this month and I can’t wait for the day.

Second because of a scheduling problem at work I just might be shooting the lead singer of an Aussie band for Music Australia Guide. If it happens (and I really think it might) it will be happening on Thursday at 3pm. I’ll be sure to update as soon as the MAG pages have been put together.

And finally, but not in the least, I’ll be heading to Daylesford early next month to do a shoot at a new mini-golf course.

The first two are directly related to my regular place of employment. And I have to say I am so greatful for the opportunities they have already provided. I don’t think I’ve ever worked anywhere else that so openly allows their staff to follow their dreams. It’s an awesome place to work.

The other job and all the jobs I’ve had outside of work have come through friends. I’m grateful for all referrals.

I guess what I take from all of this is while I have doubts about myself at times, others believe in me… and I like to believe that once I’m in the thick of it I’m loving it and produce results that so far none have been unhappy with.

So I guess this post is about thanking everyone who has helped me get this far. As they say, no man is an island, and I know that I haven’t done all this on my own.

  1. That is FAN…(wait for it)…TASTIC news JT!
And it’s about time…. that you realised how excellent you are… something we’ve known all along!
