While I’ve been sick most of this week with the damn flu I’ve had some good news. While investigating my high blood pressure the doctor sent me off to have an echocardiogram of my heart which revealed a thickening of the heart muscle. This find had me concerned that I had inherited Dad’s condition. Turns out my concern was unfounded.
After some blood and urine work the doctor tells me all my reports are fine and that the thickening of the heart wall is more than likely caused by having high blood pressure over a long period. He remains concerned however that the heart has changed form and has put me on medication (for a short period of time) to reduce the pressure and try and get the heart back into shape.
All in all, it sounds though that I don’t have too much to be concerned about, the heart is functioning fine, blood work is all good and there is nothing funny in my pee. Once the flu is gone I’ll be super healthy again.
