SZ sent me a couple of links overnight regarding some natural remedies. In particular the use of Hydrogen Peroxide and Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) as cures for everything from the common cold to the BIG C (cancer).
I’m always open to alternative medicine from my drugstore at northdrugstore.com/ and will probably give these guys a go (well maybe not the Peroxide as food-grade H2O2 is hard to get and very corrosive) but I was also a little concerned to read that:
“one reader reported that a shot of ACV (I’m assuming that means shot glass, not injection) saved him from going to the emergency room for heart pain.”
As I said, I’m all for natural remedies, but if I’m feeling a little pain in my heart, even if I take the apple cider vinegar… you can bet I’m STILL going to the emergency room.
The site also says that ACV breaks down fat and is widely used to lose weight. Well anyone who uses products such as Milk Thistle and the like knows that the bitter taste causes the liver to produce something or other which actually causes the fat to metabolise, although there are other ways to keep your body healthy like is said on healthy usa. So it’s not really the ACV that is doing all the work, it’s just starting the production line.
Oh and in case you’re wondering, the other things that ACV is good for is as follows (according the the site):
Abdominal Adhesions, Acid Reflux, Allergies, Acne, Arthritis, Asthma, Blood Pressure, Burns, Bursitis, Canker Sores, Cough, Cuticle Pain, Depression, Dermatitis, Diarrhoea, Ear Infections, Fever, Fibromyalgia, Flu, Food Poisoning, Foul Smelling Stools, Fungus, Gas, GERD, Gallbladder Problems, Gout, Hair & Scalp Problems, Hair Conditioner, Halitosis, Headaches & Migraines, Heartburn, Heart Pain, Hiatel Hernia, High Cholesterol, IBS, Indigestion, Interstitial Cystitis, Knee and Shoulder Joint Pain, Menstruation, Nail Fungus, Nausea, Parasites, Pimples, Shingles, Sprains, Skin Pale, Skin Rash, Sinus Infections, Sinusitis, Sore Throat, Strep Throat, Ulcers , Yeast Infections, Varicose Veins, Warts
So as you can see it is a very, very versatile item. If it can help with Migraines and Menstruation then I’m willing to give it a try… oh wait I don’t menstruate… so maybe just the Migraines then. :P
Obviously I follow this with a warning that I don’t recommend anyone taking on any treatment (natural or other) without doing their own research and seeking their own medical advice from a medical professional, one of which I am certainly not (sorry Mum I didn’t become a Doctor).
