Juno (2007)

Juno Poster I like to think I’m not shallow, that I don’t judge a book by its cover, but I guess I do. And if anything has proven me wrong, it’s Juno.

I must have watched the trailer for Juno five or six times and never been enticed to see it. Why did I watch the trailer so many times then? Well everyone was raving about the movie, so I figured there was something I missed in it, and so I watched the trailer again.

Last night I bit the bullet, turned on Front Row on the G5 connected to the TV and settled in to watch Juno and it was awesome.

Juno is a beautiful but wacky movie. There are so many great one-liners in it you find yourself chuckling all they way through. Sure you already know the storyline, 16-year old girl gets pregnant after “some time in the chair” and decides to have the bab, but to adopt it out to a couple she found in the penny-save magazine.

So if you’ve been avoiding the movie, as I did, go and rent it, it’s actually a great movie.

  1. I love Juno. I was lucky enough to see it at a press screening last year. It’s not the type of movie I’d normally pay to see. But I happily went along because it was free. So glad I did; it’s such a lovely, feel-good movie. Glad you liked it too.

  2. Hey Jen, I’m pretty certain the film hit home a little more with you than with most. But I for one am glad you didn’t think of giving your little bundle of joy away. Granted you were two years older, but I’m sure there were lots of things for you to consider at the time. And I suppose I should say that you probably had a hard time of it back then too.

It was funny and I did also laugh most of the way through. I’d gladly watch it again.
